Journey of Laughter

I am hiding out in the city for a couple of days. Have not stayed at my friend's spa (home) for a few weeks. This is my opportunity to catch up with old friends. A friend, the Dreamer, agreed to meet me at Barnes and then we would head out to dinner. The Dreamer was about 20 minutes late. I was on my way to the car with five new books when she showed up. I agreed to go back in the store with her. Now the Dreamer loves self-help books. She has a major in psychology and never planned on using it. She just likes studying it. She is one ugly math class away from a Master's. It is never going to happen. We have been friends since 1982. In another world I was her supervisor at a small insurance company. We have enjoyed so many good times. We still do.
I told The Dreamer that I wanted prayer beads. I thought I would be able to find them at Barnes. I figured there would be a meditation book with the mala beads included. The Dreamer said she was sure she could find some. New Age stuff is her thing. We were able to find $30 worth of new age stuff. First, a chakra meditation kit. Very intriguing. It is hard for me to meditate. My mind tends to go many places at one time. I am looking forward to learning about meditation. To make our night complete we found a kit to make mala bracelets. Enough supplies to make three bracelets. The kit was called Serenity in the Palm of Your Hands, Buddha Beads. How much do you love that? I can recognize how crazy I have grabbed onto this Eat, Pray, Love thing.
Now, we sit in the parking lot of Barnes in a Cadillac and start stringing meditation bracelets. All the laughter made this worth it. The Dreamer kept saying, where is my sacred spacer, where is my sacred spacer. She broke two beads from her tiger eye courage bracelet. I lost two of my courage beads. I finished my serenity bracelet. I also finished my strength bracelet. The serenity bracelet is made from sandalwood. The smell is already irritating me. Did I mention we sat in the parking lot for one hour and thirty minutes? Making what amounts to friendship bracelets. I will keep you posted on how the meditation goes. We will hope for the best. I already learned something. When I say Karma reared its ugly head. That is not being positive. Karma should really be used in a positive light. That is going to be a complete change of thinking.
The journey continues. Laughter is one of my favorite roads to travel.

You know... your daughter teaches a Yoga class. You could actually come to that if you wanted more peace and calm.

Then my daughter needs to add another night of yoga.

The Mrs. Reads "Eat, Pray, Love": An update

Chapter 49 done smacked me right upside the head with a whole bunch of "YO! I'm talking to you". Perhaps there IS something about this book...

Stay tuned!
