This and That....

I have had a very busy week with lots of "not reading" going on. Because I have a long commute, I try to stay at a friend's house at least once a week for a break. It is not quite like visiting a resort, somewhat like a spa without the spa treatments. The visit is all about me. I can go to bed when I want. I have the basement to myself. I get to sleep in an hour longer than I do at home. It is very relaxing for me. The best part is I get to spend time with my friend. We see each other more now than when we lived in the same town!
Tuesday and Wednesday night I had meetings. Some of the civic clubs I am involved with. I enjoy helping to improve my town. I do not enjoy that the meetings can eat up my evening. I think it is important to give back to my community. A small town does not have all the services that a large town offers. Many things would not get done without people donating their time and services.
Thursday night was hair night. I have a big wedding coming up and wanted highlights. They turned out great! Very happy with the hair. Love the dress, shoes, and accessories. Do not love the body going into the dress. I know, that is my fault. I was able to do a little bit of reading while my hair was being done. I am reading a book by Laura Munson. It is a memoir called, This Is Not The Story You Think It Is.... So far I like it. The shop was busy last night. Hard to read with all the noise. My sweet little grand daughters came by for a short visit after that. Their parent's took a short bike ride, the baby joined them for that. Both girls stayed with me while their parent's had a short run. Very odd to see my daughter running. Have not seen that many times in my life. Not since she gave up soccer.
Tonight I have nothing! I will be exhausted and ready to collapse. I have been awake since 3:25. Living with nocturnal people can cut into my sleeping time. Tomorrow is one of my favorite things.....pedicure. Having my toes done for the big wedding. The Bride To Be referred to it as "wedding toes." Not the Bride To Be from the big wedding, the Bride To Be from the book club. Very confusing.
Very busy, busy week. This week-end is going to be about cleaning my house, getting organized. No grand children to distract me. Might even be able to find some time to read. Lots to do!!! I will even find time to do blogging. I have not been keeping up with it lately.
