Busy Book Week

I have already finished two audio books this week. Both were good. The first one I finished yesterday is called, Crooked Letter, Crooked Letter by Tom Franklin. It is as mystery. I rarely read mysteries anymore. This book was great on audio. The man that read it had a great voice. At one point towards the end of the book one of the characters was shot and had a rattlesnake crawling up to him. I realized I was holding my breath. For a minute I thought I was going to have to pull my car over. I noticed this book at Barnes a few times. I checked the audio out from the library. I highly recommend it. Either audio or reading. I rate this book a 4.
On my way home from work yesterday I started another book. It is called An Object of Beauty by Steve Martin (yes that Steve Martin). I gave this book a rating of 2. I think if I would have read this book instead of listened to it, the rating would have been higher. This book has been getting rave reviews.
The odd thing is, with the first book I think it got a higher rating because I enjoyed listening to it so much. I ended up taking both books into work to listen to. Really made the day go by more quickly. I really need that. Our little pod is being broke apart. They love to move us around. It is like musical chairs with our cubicles. Willie is being moved several cubes away from me. The saddest part is The Doctor is going to another team. We will not even be able to talk over the wall. He and I have been together quite a few years. That makes me sad! So I turn to my books to get me through it. Listening to books, reading books, they always cheer me up. Or at least get me through the day.
If we count the two audio books, I am over my goal. I also finished a paperback tonight. I went old school. Just good a regular paperback. Not quality, just cheap paperback. The kind of book I used to read all the time. It is called, A Summer In Sonoma by Robyn Carr. It is about four women who have been best friends since seventh grade. They are on the threshold of thirty. The need each other more than ever to help each other through difficult times. I picked this book because it is just a fun read. Not deep. Do not need to think about it. Just a story. I really enjoyed it. I used to be able to sit and read 3-4 of these books a week. Now I expect more from my books. Interesting how my reading has evolved. I rate this book a 3.
I still have three more days in the year. I know I will get in at least one more book, maybe even two. My first book of 2011 is going to be a Wally Lamb book I bought months ago. It is a big book. I have put off reading it too long.

The count is: OVER!! Pressure is over. Back to reading for fun.
