The Final Count

Before I put away my 2010 Book Journal I decided to do a final count. Not sure what I would have done if I was short! My final count was 101. I expect to beat that for next year.
Before I start reading, The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb I thought I would mention a few things I loved about books from 2010.
Finally breaking down and listening to audio books. This has made my drive to and from work way more interesting. It also helps get me through some bad days at work. Before my vacation I downloaded a book from I-Tunes onto my Ipod. I enjoyed that too. Lately, I discovered that some books are better on audio. Easier to follow. The person that reads the book makes a big difference. They can make or break the story. Not sure how long it will take for me to go through all the audio books at my library! They do get news books in on a regular basis.
Every time someone in the book club picked a book for us to read that I would not have picked on my own. That is what the club is about. Stretching our reading selves. Thinking outside the box.
Blogging about my books. Gives me more of an opportunity to talk about what I read. The best part of a great book is being able to share it. The blog feels like a cross between a creative outlet and free therapy!
Keeping a reading journal. I started that the end of 2009. I wish it was something I started a long time ago. Would love to be able to see everything I have read. I should do it on a spreadsheet so I can quickly put in a title and pull it up to see if I read it.
Reading is a great way for me to escape when I need to escape, learn new things, and expand my mind.
Now for my first book of 2011.
