Another great day at work! Work just keeps coming. Overtime is not mandatory but if people do not start working more, it will be. It is hanging over our heads. Did I mention loving my job? Last week I came down with a cold. Felt terrible. Stayed home for a day and a half. That is just not done. Yesterday I went back to work. Unfortunately, it is so hot in my area. I seriously cough 10 times more than I had been before. I still managed to get in over two hours of overtime. Slept great last night. Today went to work and coughed all day. To the point Old Lady mentioned "The Doctor." When Old Lady admits someone is sick, they are SICK. I still got in 2 hours of overtime today. I am a team player!
After work I headed over to Prompt Care. Normally, I only go to see my own doctor. I do not like Prompt Cares. In order to keep up my overtime, I needed to go after work. I did not feel super bad. I seriously, thought I would walk out without a prescription. First thing I heard was my oxygen level was low. That might have explained why I blacked out a second while I was coughing. (Who is a trooper, I am.) I was not even grossed out by the Prompt Care. I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The Doctor spent about 2 minutes listening to my lungs. Then I had to have a breathing treatment. My first. I have given plenty to kids. Never needed one myself. The visit took forever. Then I had to have oxygen level check again. I left with three prescriptions. I asked the nurse if I could work tomorrow. She said, you should not have been working today. Don't you think you should stay home and rest. I said did the doctor write me a note. She said we could get you tomorrow off. No thank you. No reason to stay home for 1 day. Once again, staying home is frowned upon. Left the doctor with three prescriptions. Steroids which I do not think I have ever had before. An inhaler. Once again, never had one before. And antibiotic, the z-pack. So I guess the cough was real!!
Here is my ranting part. I understand that there are always going to be people that abuse staying home from work. Everyone knows who those people are. BUT......they also know people that do not abuse the system. I think if I would have stayed home a few days when I first got sick, I would not be this bad now. The fact is, people get sick. It happens. Especially, in an environment where we sit in the same room with 90 people. I feel bad for putting my germs out there. Unfortunately, we are suppose to get up, dress up, and show up.
I think sleep will help. Getting into bed. Will only work an hour of overtime tomorrow. Tomorrow is a great day! BOOK CLUB! Yeah, book club. It is going to be such a great meeting. Thinking about it makes me happy. There should be a happy post tomorrow night. We are going to have someone new come. I will try not to talk about her for awhile. If I do, there will be pressure to give her a blog name. Ugh! I am not good at blog names.
Done complaining.

Oh... yeh... sorry you're sick.
Sorry OL. I need to find your back alley Dr. for the right "medicine." Munchkin, see above comment on why I need the hospital. (Course she would probably drop the kids off there too.) If anyone cares, I look like a spaz trying to use the inhaler.
If I did not have book club, I would be going to the game!! Yes, book club supercedes Regionals.
a lotta page turner w/ a dose of OL on the side (get it? dose) the two of you complete my soul.
