Happy, Happy, Birthday

Today is The Kid's 11th birthday.  Not sure how that happened.  He promised me he would stay 4.  Then he promised me he would stay 6.  I expect this time next year he will be taller than me.  He just keeps growing and growing.
We were at a fort on Tybee Island is the above picture.  He will remember all the details about the fort.  I remember, we were there.  The top of the fort was too high.  Some of us had the sense to go down.  Brave people walked around at the top.
The picture below is on Tybee Island beach.  The waves were too high.  I was nervous.  The Kid was in his element.  I think if we lived in Hawaii he would be a surfer.  I would be the nervous Grammy watching from the beach.

Coach & TS like to refer to The Kid as my twin.  I proud to say we share some of the same passions.  We both LOVE the water.  (So does his Mom.)  We LOVE to swim and swim well.  (So does his Mom.)  He gets a beautiful tan, just like mine.
We share a passion for reading.  I hope he does not lose that in the next few years.  We love spending time together.  We can both sit quietly on Friday night, no TV on, just reading.  That is one of my favorite things to do with him.

See that ship out there?  It is a real Ocean.  Children should stay close to the shore.  How about how huge this wave is?  Dangerous right??
The Kid loves adventure.  Now, I love adventures so I can share them with him.  I was not a big traveler before.  I like to stay at home.  Traveling with The Kid and his sisters is always an adventure.
I did not have the passion for learning that The Kid has.  Wish I would have.  He just soaks up information.  It is very impressive.  Luckily, I have someone to share all their knowledge with me.
The last 11 years went by in a flash.  On Thanksgiving day, 11 years ago, I got out of bed around 4:00 am to meet my first grandchild.  I was madly in love with him before he was born.  That love grows more each year.  Happy Birthday to my favorite grandson, my twin!  Love you More.  Grammy

We 'like' to call you twins... as a joke!
And yes, I do think he would be a surfer. And I'm not sure I would love that... sharks.
