The Page Turners

I am going to try to get in a quick post.  Did not have my computer last night to write after the meeting.  Plus, I have a puppy to cuddle!  Our October book was, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak.  This book is not for the faint of heart.  Tough subject.  Tough read.  I did not finish it before the meeting.  I finally finished it last night.
The Book Thief is a little girl during the war.  She lives in Germany.  It is a story of Hitler's destruction.  The book is narrated by Death.  Now you can see what I am talking about, tough read.  It is a dark, dark story.
I gave the book a rating of 2.  I was harder on it than I should have been.  I was very frustrated by the writing style.  The author jumped around so much.  What we have discovered is, most dark books give us a great discussion.  This book was no exception.  We had a fantastic meal.  We had a wonderful discussion.  We have a new member.  I missed the Dream Maker!
Next month we celebrate our 3 year anniversary.  Our November book is:  The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman.
I promise to do better in blogging.
