What I Have Read

Last week I was able to read two books.  Sassy is more calm.  She will cuddle on my lap while I read.  She is a perfect little pup.
I have quite a few books on my Kindle.  One was, Downward Dog, Upward Fog by Maryls Davids Landau.  It was a good read.  I have read quite a few yoga stories.  It seems like quite a few authors have jumped on the Eat, Pray, Love coat tails.  I enjoyed this book.  It was the story of Lorna Crawford searching for "more" in her life.  She had a great boyfriend, friends to spend time with, and a job she loved as an events coordinator.  She felt like something was missing.  She went on a spiritual discovery.  Started with meditation, opening her mind and heart to new ideas.  Her sister was very spiritual and helped her on the journey.  As Lorna became more positive and open she started meeting people with the same energy.  It was a nice story.  It reminded me that I could stand to try to bring some positive energy to my job.  (My soul sucking job!)
I formed a new group at work.  We are, The Happiness Warriors.  We have four members.  We try to find things to make us smile.  Putting flags on our cubicles was our first order of business.  That has made us happy. By opening ourselves up to be happy, we are finding things to make us laugh.  It does not change the fact that we dislike our jobs.  Allows us to have some fun while we do the job.
Even light fictional reads can make me think.  I rate the book a 3.  A strong 3.  Left me feeling upbeat.  Ready to read another book.
Willie Nelson has a new book out called, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.  I could not pass that up.  My thought was if he can write songs he should be able to write a story.  I was wrong.  Willie has interesting stories.  There was no rhyme nor reason to the order of the book.  He jumped from subject to subject with no flow at all.  I learned things about Willie.  He has a strong spiritual foundation.  He has quite a few children and has good relationships with them.  He is a Great-Grandpa.  If you like Willie, you will enjoy the stories.  Go into it knowing this book does not flow at all!  Even with the subject matter being Willie Nelson, I would rate this book a 2.  Not sure I would buy any of his other books!!
I have two books to finish in the next couple of weeks for both my bookclubs.  Looking at four days off next week.  Should have plenty of time to read.  Plenty of time to cuddle with an adorable little dog too.

Fun with flags. Can't get much better than that. Remember the Moonshine Club at the place which shall remaine unnamed? The halls of Balls? Nice memories. Of course "he" trampled all that as well. Hope your sunshine club works out.

Oh and another thing. Remember, a flag flown upside down means distress.
