Happy Birthday To My Daughter

I do not know if the last year of Tru Stories life was her best one, it has to be close.  All three of her kids are in school.  As sad as that makes her, it makes me happy that she can get rest to stay healthy.  She opened her yoga studio.  I have listened to her talk about that for many years.  Every time I walk into the studio, it makes me feel good.  We were able to share a vacation adventure.  I hope we are able to have another trip together.  Maybe adults only!
I thought I would freak Tru Stories out with some trivia.  Things you might not know about TS.

This picture has nothing to do with anything.  I just like her chubby cheeks.

I know I have posted this picture before.  TS developed the love of hats at an early age.
It might have something to do with her unruly hair.

Remember when it used to snow in the winter?  Tru Stories had several (many) birthday parties cancelled due to bad weather.  It was so sad to see how disappointed she would get.  I think the reason she is such a fantastic party planner is due to so many terrible birthdays.  She loves to throw people elaborate birthday parties.  I have been on the receiving end of a few of them.  She knows how to make people feel special.

Tru Stories was very quiet when she was young.  She was not my imaginative child.
Tru Stories is artistic.  Does that surprise you?  I love her sketches.  She also created jewelry, paintings and ceramics.  She won an award in a city art show.  She also had drawings in the Pegasus part of The Pantagraph.  One year she competed in 4-H.
She used to be shy and intimidated easily by people.  Hard to believe when you look at this face.  You do not want to be on the receiving end of that look.

Sorry Coach.  Looks like attitude is a dominant gene.  Think our Tink might have inherited it.

She used to be shy. Seriously! Nothing about her as a child would have made us think that one day she would get up in front of a large group of people and act like a rock star. Her first speech in grade school was a demonstration on how to make fresh orange juice.  She shook so much during her practie at home.  She honed her speaking skills as a Toastmaster. She won multiple speech contests and was Toastmaster of the year. Her best category was humor.
She was a Young Author winner. That is not a surprise to anyone that reads her blog.

Tru Stories makes me laugh more than anyone else.  She has shared some of the top moments in my life.  Going to the Oprah Show.  Going to a Paul McCartney concert.  Walking around Savannah.  My 50th Birthday!  If we go anywhere in a car together, I will end up laughing until I cry.
TS - You teach me as much as I have taught you in life.  You push me to be more.  You remind me of who I am.  You are a great friend as well as the daughter I always dreamed of having.  I am so proud of all you have accomplished.  I hope every year continues to get better than the last.  All my love, Mom

1. It wasnt my best year eva, because I didn't go to New Orleans. But it was pretty great.

2. Maybe not my fav bday idea posting childhood insecurities.

3. WHY did you take that mean look picture and WHY did you save it for 2 years and WHY did you post in zoomed in??

4. But mostly thank you. Oprah was AMAZING. As was Hey Jude live in person. And walking the streets of Savannah was actually second to the extremely funny laugh filled mini break down during the Georgia traffic jam.

(likely I mis-spelled something in this Comment section if you would like to tell every one what I terrible speller I am, also.)

But thanks.. for the post and actually giving birth to me, which sorta contributes to my day!

That picture of Tru Stories and Tink is my favorite ever. I've seen that look. I avoid it at all costs. She's pretty even when she's mean!

Happy birthday to my blogging buddy and friend. You bring funny into my life, and for that I am grateful.

I feel as though I've been on the receiving end of that look... but maybe that was just now... because of the excellent photography skills...

Munchkin-
I'm sure you have probably seen the look but it is VERY unlikely I have ever shot that look directly at you... except maybe, during that very long Tina Turner impression. That was a long song...
But usually, I'm always smiling around lil Munchkin.

Thanks so much Mom, Mrs and Munchkin. Great ladies in my life.
