One of the great things about having a blog and being a reader is I can put a blog up asking for reading suggestions. Great way to discover authors to read that I did not know about. Really I could just as well send an e-mail to the Mrs. and ask her what to read. She is the one that always gives suggestions on the blog.
As everyone is aware, I am in the middle of the Irish book that will not end. When the Mrs. gave me some suggestions I decided I better deviate from the Irish book and try something new. Yesterday I read, Sleeping With Ward Cleaver by Jenny Gardiner. It was only $2.99 on Kindle. Love that! Good read and a bargain.
This is the story of a woman at the point in her life she wonders if she made the right decisions. She has five children. Wow! That might not have been a conscious decision. She gave up her career. She runs the house and is beginning to think she is being run by her husband.
The fun, romantic guy she married has turned into a conservative, bossy, Ward Cleaver. He went from being Mr. Right to Mr. Always Right. She thinks her husband might be having an affair. He goes on a business trip and tells her she cannot go along. She goes on her own and turns into a spy.
In the middle of this crisis Clare receives an e-mail from the "one that got away." They start an e-mail conversation on the flirty side. Clare thinks that finding out what went wrong with them might help her.
It is a cute story. It is a reminder that people need to work at marriage, not take each other for granted.
I rate it a 3. It was a nice light read for a Sunday afternoon with bad weather. I think I will read another one of her books. You Rock Mrs.! I am not just saying that because I have seen you in your pleather pants!!
