I have been very busy the last couple few weeks attending basketball games. There was a two week time period The Kid was playing games for three teams. Our Tiny Tink started playing in the weekly league. Coach was busy with the end of his coaching season. That means I pick up the slack and keep the children on Yoga nights. It is hard to keep up with two kids on teams. Not sure what we will do when all three kids are involved in activities. Tru Stories will be busy and we will take on the overflow. Saturday the season ends. Followed, almost immediately, by the start of track. Only one child to follow for that.
Last night Hubby and I took The Kid to dinner with us. His parents and the girls were across the room in the same restaurant. We were dining in style and listening to our favorite duo. The Kid said, "I need some civilized adult conversation." He cracks me up. I asked him to tell me what he has been doing at school. He is doing a report in Art on VanGogh, and he recently read a book about the Holocaust. Along with reading the book his class watched a film clip of Hitler giving a speech. We had a discussion on how a person with charisma can make people believe things. Our discussion reminded me that I have not read, Diary of Ann Frank. I need to do that soon. The Kid could not believe I have not read it. I can't either. Not sure why we did not read it in school. I am putting it on my list. It is great to have one on one time with The Kid when he shuts his phone off! He is so interesting. (Kid if you are reading this, do not get a big head.)
I have read six books in February. Nothing to go crazy over. I have been downloading some of the specials on Kindle. I think you get what you pay for 90% of the time with those books! The one book I read and enjoyed was, Live In The Moment by Julie Clark Robinson. It was a book I found when Flag Girl asked me for some book suggestions. I liked it. So many of the things the author suggestions are obvious but we easily forget. She reminds people how easy it is to find happiness. Listening to songs we love. That always works for me. Making an effort to smile and people and try to make conversation. It was a good read. I rated it a 3.
This week is book club week. The Page Turners meet on Wednesday. The Yoga Book Club meets this week too. I read The Yoga book so long ago, not sure I can remember enough to discuss it. I am the hostess of The Page Turners. I picked a book I read a few years ago. So long ago, I purchased it at Borders. Had to read the old fashioned way, holding an actual book. Our book this month is, A Reliable Wife. One of my favorites. It is not a great book to read a second time. What makes the book special is all the twists and turns. I already knew all the twists so not as exciting. We will still have a good meeting!
Looking at a lazy Sunday today. Comfy pants, oversize t-shirt, and sleepers. I will cover my eyes to my messy house and enjoy the day. I have quite a few pictures to post of my adorable grandchildren. I will try to get to it later today.
