Today I turned 55. I am not sure if there has been a birthday that I have been so looking forward to the coming year. I only have 5 days of work left at my big boring company. I am so excited to leave my job. I am not excited to leave some great people. That part is going to be difficult.
Today my family worked on Coco's for me. Tru Stories and Coach did some painting. Coach had been working over there sometime during the week. My carpet goes in on Monday. It is all coming together. That is how I feel about my life. For a very, very long time I have wanted to own a business. What I want to own varied. My ultimate dream would have been a bookstore and coffee shop. Sadly, bookstores are going away. Little bookstores are almost nonexistent. I am very excited about the sweet shop. There will be coffee. There will be little tables people can sit at. It is going to be a great place for people to bring their kids. I am reaching for a dream. It feels so good. In 55 years I have never done anything so daring. On my 56th birthday I hope to be writing about how successful Coco's is. The next month is going to be a wild ride. The next year should consistently get better.
What is the expression people used to say, I'm not getting older, I'm getting better!
