I Did Some Reading

I finally did some reading.  About the only thing I download now are the Free Daily Specials for Kindle.  Those can be a hit or miss.  I read two good books in the last week.  It was great to read again.  Yesterday the kids were over.  They were all into their games.  Not Coco, she was playing with My Little Ponies.  I was laying on the love seat and Tink cuddled in with me.  It was great.  Once in a while Tink would look up from her game and give me a sweet smile.  Love those kids.
The first book that was a hit surprised me.  I debated on whether I wanted to download it or not.  Something about the description convinced me to do it.  The book was, The Stolen Dog by Tricia O'Malley.  Obviously, it was about a dog that was stolen.  It was a true story.  It was more about human spirit than just the dog.  How many people were touched by the story and started helping.  How constant perseverance and love finally brought the dog back.  I would rate the book a 3.  I think being an animal lover helped me enjoy the story.  If you can read it for free, do it.  You will enjoy.  If you have to pay, don't spend too much.  Being free helped me enjoy it.
The second book I read would even be good if you have to pay for it.  Cheer by Leslie A. Gordon.  This is the story about a family that loses their two year old son in a tragic accident.  The family is left with so much grief and guilt.  His 14 year old sister was watching him when the accident happened.  There are quite a few stories done with this theme.  I really liked the way this book was written.  One chapter from the sister, one from Mom, one from Dad.  Their sadness is tough to read about.  It was a book I could totally lose myself into the read.  I would give it a 3 too.  I would even pay for this book.......not in hardback!  Ha!
Hubby and I have a few dork things we really enjoy.  One of them is star gazing.  Last night we took the kids out to watch for meteors.  The girls were too young to be able to do it.  Coco does not have the patience.  The Kid, Hubby, and I all saw a meteor with a large tail shoot across the sky.  What a great moment to share.  So glad we took the time to take the kids out for a ride in the country.  Good memory.
Need to get busy at Coco's.  Many things to do.
