When I had my yearly doctor visit, my doctor suggested a few books for me to read. One of my favorite things about my doctor. Love to discuss books with her. She told me about a trilogy. She said she could not describe to me what it is about but that I would love. The books are so beautiful. It is considered a trilogy. I do not know why. The story did not end on the third book. I was disappointed. I could read one of the books in less than an hour. I did not want to read it fast. I tried to go slow. When I read the second book, I reread the first book before I read the second. So good!
The books are a correspondence. The cover of the book is a postcard. One page would show the front of the postcard. The next page would show the back of the card and the message. There are also letters tucked in envelopes. The letters come out of the book to be read.
The story starts with Sabine sending a postcard to Griffin. Sabine lives on an island. Her job is designing stamps. Griffin lives in England. He is an artist. For years Sabine has been able to see Griffin create his art. It took her a long time to figure out who she was seeing and to find him. The artwork is as much a part as the writing.
It is hard to explain what the story is about. It is about the correspondence and a journey of Griffin and Sabine falling in love and trying to find each other. We do not even know if they are real or if one is imagining all of it.
Obviously, this can not be read on a e-reader. If you could check it out of a library, (yuck), that would be the best way to go. Unless you have issues, then the books need to be purchased.
At least read one of the books. Experience a unique story and way of telling the story. Loved it. Will be buying book 4 soon. I am going to rate all of them a 4.
