Life's a Beach

I finally found time to read a book during this long week-end. I mentioned in an earlier blog that the word beach in a title will make me pick up a book. I think when beach is in a title it guarantees a light, easy read. That is what I was looking for.
The book started slow but once I got further into the book it was just what I needed. No thinking, lose myself in a story book. It was one of the books I picked up on my Mother's Day binge at Barnes. Even for light reading I would not consider the author great. I am going to rate the book a 3 but it could have easily been a 2. The ending surprised me or it would be a 2.
This is a story about a 41 year old, Ginger Walsh. She is still trying to find herself, an occupation, and a man. She lives above her parent's garage. Ginger has an older sister, Geri, who has a good career, family, and organized life. Geri is always willing to give Ginger advice on how to live her life. Ginger's parents are trying to find themselves too. At the other end of the spectrum. What to do with themselves in retirement.
One of the reviews on the back cover is, "Midlife love, laughter, sibling rivalry, and self-discovery." That is a good one line description of the book. If you want something light, something to read at the beach or sitting in the yard, this would be a good pick.
