Thinking Outside the Box

One of our goals on our week-end trip were to do things we normally would not do.  Here is a list of a few things that were out of the ordinary.

We stopped at an apple orchard and picked apples.

We were aimlessly driving to find a main road and found the Dog n Suds.  No plan, just driving.

I drank my first martini.  It was a cotton candy martini.  Did not love it but I tried something new.

No worrying or talking about what was going on at home.

Our last night in Wisconsin we ate at an upscale restaurant.  I ordered a chilled melon soup.  Tried something out of the box.  It was good.  A bit sweet to have before dinner.  But I liked it.

Normally, on my last day of a trip I always feel rushed to get home.  I like to have time to get home and unpacked, ready for the start of my week.  Not this time.  We decided we wanted to use every minute of our trip.  Our 5 hour drive home took over 10 hours.  We enjoyed the heck out of our last day.

We tried to do more out of the box things.  Unfortunately, the town we stayed in was too tame.  No mopeds to rent.  Could not fly in the hot air balloon.  We took the spirit of "out of the box" on the trip with us.  It made us more conscious of having fun.  Nice to know we remember how to have fun without our little ones.  Do not panic TS, we still love spending time with the kids.  Just don't make plans to use us next Saturday night.  We are planning another night out.
