Update From Earlier Post

I waited to call the hospital until about 10:15.  Ashley (nurse), said she thought she saw a positive change.  She said after he got upset from the phone call to me he went to his room.  She said he punched the wall a few times and then went to bed.  The fact he was able to calm himself down is huge.  Ashley said he slept for a few hours.  Got up and asked for a snack.  Asked for his medicine and went back to bed.  That is huge!  I do not think he has been asking for his medicine.  Normally at night he is very agitated.  He does not want to sleep.  We know not sleeping has been one of his big problems.  At the hospital he fights sleep so long they eventually have to sedate him with shots.  He hates that.  I am sure they have to hold him down for the shots.
If we can get him to start working with the medical staff, there could be some minor improvements.  I am going to cut out early on Trick or Treating and visit him tomorrow night.  I will try to talk to him on the phone earlier in the day.  Ashley said Joel is always agitated during visiting hours.  Because I have to feel guilty I am going to take some of that blame because we have not been visiting.
I am praying that Joel can at least understand more of what is going on before he gets moved to Springfield.  I do not want him feeling lost and alone.
