Countdown to 100

Here is is December 2nd already.  My yearly book goal of 100 has not been met.  It is within reach.  When I am stressed, I read.  I did not have the concentration for reading when my son was first hospitalized.  If I would have, my goal would have long ago been met.  The last couple of weeks I have been losing myself in books.  Another thing to do on my road to feeling better.
I have really been enjoying my Kindle.  Everyday, I check to see what the Amazon book of the day is.  They are either free of very inexpensive.  I have been downloading quite a few free books.  This week I read six books.  I think four of them were free.  One was just a couple of dollars.  One was a regular priced best seller.  The longer I have the Kindle, the more I love it.  Books are at my fingertips.  It is not as dangerous as I thought it would be.
Tonight I finished my 89th book of the year.  That puts my yearly goal well within my reach.  As long as I am not distracted my Christmas, Christmas cards, family, shopping......  I think I can do it.  I still have two days of the week-end left!
I know I have mentioned it before, if you are a reader you need to have a journal.  This will be my second full year of writing down all the books I read.  It has been useful.  I can hand it to friends that are looking for something to read.  I can look back and see how I rated books.  I like having the reference at my hands.  I think I have finally organized the journal the best way I can.  I need to buy a journal for 2012.
Stay tuned.  I will let you know as I approach my goal.  I have not had the time to read and blog about everything I am reading.  If anything really special comes along, I will write about it.  Next year I would like to finish my goal before December.  That will be my 2012 goal.  Ready 100 books by December!

It is very sad to say...
I'm pretty sure, I have only read, maybe 3-4 grown up books this year. Next year, when these brats are in school, your book shelf won't know what hit it!
