A good friend recommended that I read a series of books. She has been suggesting for a couple of read this author. I kept ignoring her. I knew I would not like the books. My friend and her Mom loved this series. Her Mom recently passed away. One of the Memorials for her was library donations. My friend wanted one of the book donations to be the newest book from the series. That reminded her that I have not read the books. She gave me one and told me she knows I will love it. Ugh!
Here is the thing. I am very opinionated and judgemental about the books I read. If you are reading this blog, you know that about me. Little things can turn me against a book. I NEVER like books by Irish authors. Does that sound strange? I do not know why. When I open a book and it has a map my interest drops. If there is a family tree, it drops even more. Now I am faced with this Irish written, huge book, with a map, and that has sentimental meaning to my friend. I disliked the book just hearing about it. I was not even done with the first page when I threw in the towel. I will give it another try. It is going to be terrible to say I was not able to get beyond the first page. Just not going to try again today.

so... does your friend not read this?
TIP for other followers:
Just give the book to PT, don't build it up, then when she loves it, you can squeal... I KNEW IT!!!
She does not even know it exists. The Page Turner
Is it the Irish Country doctor series? It's a delightful book! I've read them all. We're you traumatized by an Irish author/genealogist turned map maker, as a child?
It is that series Bookkeeper!

No love for Angela's Ashes? Or 'Tis? (Technically, Frank McCourt was born in the U.S. even if he was raised in Ireland, so if you haven't yet you might want to give him a try...)

The BFF - I don't want to read more Irish books. I don't want to even read the one I have!!!
