Three Weeks

Yesterday was officially my first day of retirement.  Which means, I am officially without pay.  The only part I dislike about my decision.  It feels like much longer than three weeks.  Creating a new life and career really fills up the time.
I fear my reading days are over.  I could find a few minutes during each day to read, I am just too exhausted to do it.  My mind is on overdrive all day and into the night.  Hard to turn it off.
Yesterday I went to the shop around 8:15.  At 4:00 Commish came in to help me out.  I was shocked that it was already 4:00.  At 6:15 The Kid called me because we were going candy shopping.  I picked The Kid up and we head North.  Did some major candy shopping.  I think I was home by 9:00.  I was exhausted in a great way.  Back to work by 8:30 this morning.
You know that saying about Find something you love to do and it won't be work (close enough)?  It seems to be true.  I am working hard and having a fantastic time.  Not going to lie, there are nights I wake up in a major panic!  Days I only get a few hours of sleep.  After to listening to people say how brave I am over and over, there are times I think they all know something I do not.  This might not have been the best idea I have ever had.  Yesterday was a very low day.  Candy delivery was delayed.  When it came it was all smashed.  I will not be joining the UPS fan club.  I felt overwhelmed and under smart.  I know it is not a real word.  It is how I felt.  Tru Stories got Coach and came up to help me.  She organized some of the mess.  Coach hung up signs, mirrors, decorations.  Made it homey.  TS knew I needed to see some of my vision coming together.  It worked.
If you are not on Facebook, you have missed the sneak peek TS has been posting on Coco's Sweet Shop's page.  Here are some pictures.

Got my shirts and aprons.  Love them.  It is all becoming real!  I am more than ready to get Coco's open.

Notice how artistic Tru Stories is getting with the pictures!  She does not use her artistic talents often enough.
I have several types of adorable display baskets, boxes, jars.  Fun stuff!!
This sign is one of my favorite decorations.  It was a simple tin sign.  Coach put it on the board.  Looks much fancier.  I wanted to find material like the stripes on the sign.  Looked and looked.  No luck!
This is one of the things that Hubby contributed to Coco's.  He went to the auction and picked up this table and chairs.  Coach painted it and recovered the cushions.  He has so many talents!
Today the gourmet popcorn arrived.  Oh my it smells delicious!!! Looks great too.  Fudge arrives on Friday.  Yummers!  No tasting the fudge before the opening.  Tru Stories, I'm talking to you.  I have not been able to purchase bulk chocolates.  Guess that is considered seasonal.  No shipping it during the summer months.  With all the problems I have with UPS, I get it.  There is plenty of sweets.  Lots of chocolate bars.  Just not bulk chocolate.  I'm bummed!  Guess I will be doing seasonal candy changes.  I promise not to put out bikini candy as soon as Christmas is over.  No Christmas candy until the holidays are really approaching.
There are days I sit in my quiet store organizing, ordering, making candy bouquets!  Hours pass.  I do not talk to other people.  The strange thing is, I love it.  I also love it when people stop by.  I am meeting new people.  I hope to meet many more when the shop opens.
The Grand Opening is set for July 13th.  I still have a couple of major things to complete.  My niece and I are scared of the cash register.  It glares at us.  Today I put together the scale.  That was easy.  Hope I can say the same thing about the cash register.
I miss my work friends.  Do not miss my old job.  Hope to see some of my friends when the shop opens.  Hugs to all of you!  You know who you are!

I have been wanting a table and chairs like the one your hubby found forever. It looks perfect outside your store. I have to know - are the seat cushions vinyl?

Not vinyl. Outdoor material. The set is under over hang of roof.
