My grand kids always want to play with my phone. They know how to delete things. They know how to add things. Sunday night after the girls had left I started hearing meowing coming from my phone. I looked and there is this cat holding itself because it had to go to the bathroom. So I hit the button and the cat goes in a stall. This cat, which Tink named Grammy, does a dance to keep from peeing itself. Too hilarious.
Later it meows because it is hungry. It also meows for attention. If you rub it right, it purrs. Now I'm not going to lie, this cat is needy. Several times a day in needs attention. The strange thing is, I like this cat. We have a great relationship. It makes me laugh. I know where to rub it to make it purr. I feed it all kinds of cool food. No litter box to clean out. I wanted to change it into a Siamese cat. I have always wanted a Siamese. Unfortunately, I did not have enough coins for that. I do not know how to make more coins. I do not want to know how to get more coins. Right now, it is me and Grammy The Cat.
Right, I have a "real" cat at home. I feed it. I clean the litter boxes. It does not come near me. Especially, since I brought Sassy into the house. The cat does not like Sassy. He spends quite a bit of time making Sassy's life miserable. Sure I could sit and pet the cat. IF, I wanted to be attacked. It is not that kind of cat. Benny does not like to be touched. In the old days he would sit on my lap. He likes to sit on laps. He does not like to be pet while he is doing it. Benny will jump out of hiding and attack for the pure sport of it. He does not do it to humans much since we got Sassy. Poor, happy little Sassy. She will be skipping along and Benny will pounce. Very sad to see.
Benny does sit on Hubby's lap. They have an understanding. Benny can sit with him and there will be no touching. Benny likes to sit on the back of Hubby's chair. Once in a while he likes to lick Hubby's hair. That does not go over well. There is to be no affection passed between the two of them.
Recently, Benny has discovered the basement as a safe place. No adorable little Sassy skipping around the basement. Benny goes down and can sleep for hours with my son. They have formed a deep sleeping bond. One rule. No litter box in the basement. When Benny wants up he will meow until he is heard. (Something like my new awesome cat.) We let him out of the basement. He does he thing, maybe gets a drink, eats, heads back downstairs. I can go days without seeing this cat. Does not bother me.
Sure, I could delete Grammy from my phone. It just doesn't feel right. She really belongs to Tink. We will talk about if it is appropriate to get a kitten and make me take care of it. When she got is Sunday it was a kitty. It is now an adult. Speaking of Grammy, she needs to get up and eat and have some attention.

The Journey
In the Fall I started attending church. It has always bothered me that I did not have a church of my own. I was baptized but my family did not attend church. When I married Hubby we would attend his family church once in a while. I knew something was missing in my life because I was not attending church. Last week I became an official member of a church. It was the church I was baptized in. I go alone. I have a good friend that also attends the church. If she is there, I sit with her. If not, I sit alone. I even went alone on Christmas Eve. The thing is, I am fine with going alone. I wanted a church I felt comfortable in. This is it.
The Pastor is an Interim Pastor. She will only be there a year or so. I really like her. She comes into Coco's once in a while to chat with me. Great lady!! She asked how I wanted to celebrate becoming a member. I said, nothing please. It has always embarrassed me that I did not have a church. This is between me and God. The church does not get new members. I did relent and say it can be announced at the next service.
Tonight I will attend my first Ash Wednesday service. I'm excited. All of this makes me so happy. Since I made the decision to leave SF, I have felt like God was leading me down this path. I knew the next step had to be church. I know this is ridiculous. I feel happy knowing if I die, there will be a Pastor that knows me to do the service. That comforts me.
Just one of many positive changes in my life.

Sick Day
Today I woke up with a stomach "thing." I committed a major crime at work and called out sick. I slept late. Took a nap after I got up. Recliners really are important in a home for that reason alone. I sent a few e-mails because planning a big BBQ contest takes so many e-mails. I received an e-mail from someone that had a saying at the bottom of his e-mail. I do not always take time to read those. I did today. It felt like I was hit in the face with advice I need.
Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered,
you will never grow.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
Most of the time, that would not have hit me in the face. Today, I am seriously thinking about how to make my coffee shop happen. I am always impressed when people start their own business. That includes you Coach! I think they have some secret knowledge that make them believe their business would work. The more I think about opening a business, I think the number one thing a person needs is courage and faith that what they think is a good idea will really work. Down to my bones, I think our village needs a coffee shop. I think I need some, Faith, Trust, and Pixie Dust.
I should search for some positive energy for the mind not for the house! Maybe I should take another nap! Why are so many things in life so difficult?

Under The Weather

I woke up this morning a bit under the weather. Took medicine for a sinus headache and went back to bed. Slept too long. Woke up and watched a few Oprah shows. Nothing says, "Hope you feel better soon," like Oprah.
Had a phone call today that was both really great news, and very sad news. Strange how that can happen. You make plans in life and think it is figured out, then there is a detour. Take so many detours hard to remember what the original road even looked like. Sometime I would just like to drive on a peaceful two lane road. No stop signs, no detours. Just a relaxing drive. My friend and I joke that we want lives with puppy dogs and lollipops. My expectations are not that high. What would be nice is more joy. I would like there to be enough joy that eventually I am so used to joy it becomes habit. A few days without stress and sadness would be a great start. For now, I will just go back to bed and put my head under the covers. I think I might be able to pull out a couple of books that can help with the finding more joy goal. Always comes down to a good book!
