Greatest Day Ever

If you are a reader, you can appreciate the treat I gave myself Friday. I spent my lunch writing a list of books I wanted to buy. Got off work early went to buy all the books on my list. I am a reading addict, Barnes is one of my dealers. My favorite dealer.
I decided any book that intrigued me, I was going to buy. Unfortunately, one of the books on my list had not been released yet. I pre-ordered it. It was not necessary, just felt like it was the thing to do. One of the books, was no longer in stock. I will have to order it. I will use one of my less expensive dealers for this transaction. Friday was about the ambiance. The hunt.
First I bought all the books they had on my list. My next hunt, for the grand kids. I want them to share my book addiction (and they do). Found books for all of them. I almost got caught up in the spending and bought a Nook. I held back. I would save money over time if I owned one. I could read any book I want without waiting for time to get to the store. Instant gratification. What keeps me from buying this electronic book is, I am a book snob. I think books should be read. I like to go in bookstores. I like to hold the book, feel the book, put in a bookmark. Know how much further I have to finish it. Eventually, the electronic lure might win me over. Just not yet.
I walked out of Barnes with 7 books for me and 3 for the kids. Very satisfying. Had the promise of a week-end filled with reading. Knowledge that I will not run out of anything to read, (I also had an on-line order of 4 books delivered last week). Life is good when it is filled with great books to read!
