I finished Columbine tonight. It is a book that is hard to review. I discovered there was so much I did not know about the school shooting. The book detailed the shooters and what led them to the massacre. It also talked about some of the dead and injured. It is a well written book. Compiled through interviews and documents. I would give it a 4 on my rating scale. A very hard subject to read. Did not finish the book with a happy feeling! I do feel like I have read an accurate account of the event and what led up to it. Much of what was widely reported was not accurate. I am glad I read it. Reminds me that so much of what is reported live on TV is based on speculation, not facts. That is what happened at Columbine. When the truth started coming out, much of it was covered up to protect victims. If you like to read stories based on events in history, this is a well written book. If you are looking for a light read, this is not it. Now it is time to read House Rules by Jodi Picoult. Hope there is some sunshine and rainbows in it!

I read this book also. Wouldn't say I "enjoyed" it, but was left with a feeling that I was glad I read it. Being a teacher, I have always been interested in this story as it is all too common in school systems today. I wanted to know what drove Dylan and Eric to do such a thing and wanted to know "warning signs". The book was very eye opening, graphic, (which it was supposed to be) and informational. All in all, liked the book, glad I read it, and feel a bit of guilt for liking it.
