Just For Fun

I do not want to give the impression that I only read deep book club books. That is just not true. There are times I like to read just for fun. Several years ago a Secret Santa at work gave me the three books to the left. I had never heard of Janet Evanovich. Every book, the characters became more eccentric and hilarious. This is the first author that made me LAUGH OUT LOUD!! I was lucky there were probably already 6-7 books out in this series. In no time at all I had read all of the books she had published and started waiting for the next in the series to come out. I am still waiting for each book to hit the shelves. If you are one of the few people on the planet that have not read Janet Evanovich, treat yourself. When I started reading this series, there were not other authors doing what Janet did. The books were humorous, romantic, modern books. Her characters are unique and zany. Stephanie is bounty hunter in New Jersey. She is not good at her job. She messes up more than she is successful. The cast of characters are unique and always fun. You can follow the stories without starting at the first book, but you will be cheating yourself if you do not start with One For The Money. It is such a treat to see how the characters develop. Everyone has a favorite character. Stephanie the main character has more than one love interest. Not everyone wants her to go for the practical guy. We are now waiting for Sizzlin Sixteen to come out. As much as I love this series, and still buy the books, it is time for Janet to end it. At this point, I think she has taken the characters as far as she can. I wanted her to finish about 3 books ago. She has written other series. The stories are good. They are not as hilarious as this series, but good. In June I will buy Sizzlin Sixteen. I will hope that Janet comes up with something fresh for the story line. I will also hope she brings all the loose ends together and ends on a high note.
