My Collection

Books are my favorite things to collect. Seems like it would be easy for anyone that ever wants to buy me a gift to buy a book. Unfortunately, I have way too many books. It is hard for me to keep track of what I already own. My family rarely attempts to buy me books for a gift. Once in awhile, my husband will pick me up a Barnes Gift Card. That is always a winner. My daughter is not the gift card type. She likes her gifts to be more personal. For Christmas she found a charm for a necklace. One side has a Louisa May Alcott quote with a picture that looks like her. The quote is, "She is too fond of books, and it has turned her brain." The other side says: Just the knowledge that a good book is awaiting one at the end of a long day makes that day happier. That sure works for me! I wear this necklace all the time. What makes it so special is my daughter made the effort to find a gift that celebrates my passion for books. Very touching gift. Way better than the pig collection she keeps forcing on me.
Last night my daughter showed up at the door with a gift to thank me for being a willing babysitter, and to celebrate my blog. That is the gift as it appears on my wall. It is a metal wall hanging that looks like books. It is now my favorite decoration in the house! Added bonus that all the colors are in my living room. Can you believe it? A book wall decoration! It is like this was made just for me.
If you are trying to buy a gift for a book junkie, just walk around Barnes & Noble. There are always cute bookmarks, journals, tote bags. Anything that refers to books or celebrates books is going to make us happy.
It is almost like my daughter was just looking for a way to get into my blog. Even if that is true, I got some great wall art for it!

I was not trying to get on the blog, but we do have several social events planned...and need our babysitter, happy.
No really, I saw it from all the way across the store and knew...that belonged in your house.
