Me, a Book, and a Beach....

This is where I would like to be. My favorite "Me" time would have to be, sun, beach, and a book. I can sit in the sun toasting my body for hours with a good book in my hands. There is nothing more relaxing.

When I am reading outside I go with a lighter read. Usually a paperback. Do not want to risk damaging an expensive book. I read different genres of books. When I am outside relaxing, I want to have a light romantic comedy. There are a few paperbacks I have that I like to read over and over. Summer is when I will pull them out. There are a few older books of Danielle Steele I like to read. Some of my favorites are, Season of Passion; Going Home; Now and Forever. I feel like her older books are the best. Another favorite author of light reads for me is, Janet Dailey. I have several of her books. One I have read so many times the pages are getting stiff is, Aspen Gold. This last book is an exception to my paperback rule. It is a hardback I bought in the 80's. It was probably through the Literary Guild. Until I pulled this book off my shelf tonight, I never paid much attention to the author. The book is Success Story, by Tim Paulson.

I do not know what it is about this sweet romance. I have read it over and over and over.... Easily I have read this book 15 times. This is what shocked me, the book was written by a man. I am always surprised when a romantic book is written by a man. Could a man possibly be as romantic in real life as he was writing a book? In my next life, I want to marry a guy that is so romantic he could write a story.

Looking at this book I realize how my reading has evolved. Now when I read a book I really enjoy, I make a note of knowing the author. I will write the name of the book and author down and research some of the other books written. If I love one book, there have to be more I will enjoy. Need to do some research before summer.

We are all tired of the gloom and doom of this winter. Time to get ready for summer. Pick up a few paperbacks. When summer arrives, you will be ready!

The problem with marrying a man who can write a great romantic novel is... he probably has a weak jump shot and has no clue how to properly Box Out.
Sure, he has clever ways to say 'I love you'...but has he ever scored a touchdown? Doubtful.

I have not been boxed out in a long time. I don't need to be boxed out. I do love a jump shot. In the end, on my death bed, I won't want to know how many shots my husband blocked. I would love to have my man read me beautiful poetry. Exit....

you know the saying, 'the shoemaker's kids never have shoes?' i feel it would probably be the same way w/ the romantic author....
