This Is Not The Story You Think It Is

I finally finished a book!!! I enjoyed this read. I did not rush through it. It was recommended to me by a new book acquaintance. Think I might be able to trust her taste. If I had to compare it to something it would be Eat, Pray, Love without the travel. It is a memoir by Laura Munson. There is a little travel. It is about finding your true self. Laura is on a quest to find her own happiness. She is doing it in the face of marital problems, financial problems, and the everyday problems that life can serve up.
One day Laura realizes or recognizes that she is responsible for her own happiness. She has been in therapy for years. Until she makes the decision to be responsible to herself, the therapy has not changed her life.
Here is some of the comments on the book cover: She takes the spiritual stuff and the personal stuff and the love stuff and the pain stuff, and she brews them together in a very fun and touching memoir.
This book is fabulous. Laura Munson's noble quest to become the source of her own happiness will take you by the hand and heart as it guides you through the steps to living a life without suffering. Her story pulls back the curtain on the only magic we ever need to know: how to make the shift from fear to love.
Laura Munson has served up a whopping portion of sanity. This book has the potential to start a cultural revolution.
All of that and I am still only giving it a 3. Only because I am stingy. This book needs to be read more than once. It should be a guide to living true to one's self. I seem to have a theme to my reading this month.
One of the next books I read is Eat, Pray, Love......
The movie comes out on Friday. I hope you take the time to read it before you see it!
