What Books To Take On Vacation

When we started getting items together for the vacation, in my mind I thought two books should be fine. I am taking my e-reader. It has two books on it. That should be enough.....but I might need more. There was a brief moment I thought about taking Twilight. Unfortunately, it is too bulky. Would not fit in my suitcase. In addition, I really do not want my first Twilight reading to be in front of so many people.
The first book I packed is Eat, Pray, Love. That is a for sure!! It should be the perfect vacation read. I can read a chapter, put the book down. Read some more! It is not a suspense book that I will feel the need to hurry and finish to find out how it ends. I am anxious to reread EPL. I have not read it for over a year. I keep hearing that people are bored in India. We will have to see if I feel the same way on my third read. When I get back to work, there will only be a few days to discuss EPL before our meeting. The meeting and THE MOVIE!! I do not think I have ever been so excited to see a book made into a movie. Very excited, very, very excited.
I am also packing a book called Cane River that my sister in law gave me to read. It is an Oprah book. Looks like a period book. That is two strikes against it. Normally, I love everything the Winer recommends. She and I have about the same taste in books. That means I have to give this book a chance.
I feel like I need one more book. Something that will be a pool side read. During the first part of our trip I hope to find time for the pool. I would love to get some sun. Summer is almost over and I have not even tanned. Too sad. That used to be one of my joys. I am going to glance through my "To be read" pile and grab something that catches my eye. That will be three books and my e-reader. That should be enough.
How many do you think I will read? I agree, one at the most. I always over pack. Clothes, shoes, and books!
