Dear Tru Stories

Tonight I decided to venture outside for another bike ride.  I was going to just glide by your home.  But I had to come to a screeching halt.  The love of my life, my best friend, The Kid was PITCHING to his Dad, the Coach.  He was not crying.  He was not complaining.  There was not a book in sight.  There was not a dinosaur in sight.  A ball, a glove and a regular looking 9 year old boy.  Throwing a ball to his Dad.  Pause for tears.
He did take a few minutes to tell me about a test he took for reading a book.  Coach had walked away to get a bucket in the garage.  He also took time to remind me he has dibs on my Friday night, ALONE.
I started playing with the girls.  Your neighbor stopped to be a very tall batter.  The Kid pitched some STRIKES.  The neighbor went on his way.  I stepped in to catch.  Coach stood next to The Kid to give more intensive instructions.  Still NO CRYING.  He listened and PITCHED.  Another pause for tears.
Let me take a moment to recap:  MY GRANDSON WAS PITCHING A BASEBALL instead of a fit.  This is what I have been waiting for.  I let him know how much I loved pitchers.
Tomorrow night, Popop is going over after dinner.  He has agreed to watch him and give The Kid and Coach pointers.  Even Popop will leave the house for pitching.  He did not understand.  He said you mean go to practice.  I said, NO.  The Kid is playing BASEBALL in his yard.  Insert more tears.
I wish I would have had my camera.  Not for the pitching.  Though I would have taken a picture of that.  What I would like to have a picture at the top of my blog of would be is the way your girls were in the yard.  Coco had on pink polka dot footie PJ's.  On her feet where her pink polka dot rain boots.  I would like to say, at least she was warm.  Now Tink had bare legs, with her pink polka dot rain boots.  She had on a short sleeve shirt, might have been blue.  I assume there were shorts or something, and over those her green tinker bell costume.  Her hair was a mess.
I love those girls.  Waltzing around the yard like they were dressed in normal outfits.  I cannot say how many people drove by the house.  I assume everyone that was not at yoga.
Thanks for giving me that crazy group to LOVE.
Fingers Crossed,
With Love From Your Mother

I heard about it.
Now, I have read about it.
He was even still talking about it, when I got home.
Coach's Fav part was the Very Tall Neighbor, pretending to be a 9 year old.

And sadly, they were not pink polka dot.... they were pink with white snowman jammies. Playing outside, in April.

Yet still, she was warm. The Tinkerbell had bare legs, on a cool April evening.

Now... that outfit was all Tink's idea and you know, she is a sweaty little mess, of her own making.
