End Of An Era

The other night a few of us got together to bid Easy Rider a happy life.  She will be leaving in a couple of weeks for her new job.  A new chapter in her book of life.  I would title this chapter:  I Really Did It.  I have a feeling Easy Rider is thinking that every once in a while.  Suffering from shock that she is not only leaving the nest, she is flying south for more than the winter.  When she sets out to make changes in her life, she does not kid around.
I think she is going to do great.  She showed me pictures of her apartment.  It is beautiful.  The green grass was soooo green.  Every winter I forget how green grass is.  This winter more so than most.  Easy Rider will be setting up her home not too far from my friend, Arizona.  I have shared Arizona with Easy Rider and Skinny to answer questions about Arizona.  I feel good knowing that if Easy Rider needs someone, Arizona will be there.  I'm a little jealous that I am not moving to Arizona too!
Here is a picture of four of the original Page Turners.  Odds are, we will no longer exist.  Reality is, many are going their own way.  I was trying to think of all the original members.  There was:  P. Whitty.  She wanted to be in a book club and not read books.  Kathi retired and spent winters in Florida.  Kelly moved to Florida.  Kileen and Tracy changed departments and have since moved to Washington State and Texas.  Stacy was working 11 hour days and did not have time to read or attend meetings.  She has not moved yet.  I am sure I have forgotten someone.  As people left, we added several new members.  The reality is, I do not make it to the city often anymore.  Not once a month for sure.
Easy Rider suggested we do some kind of face time book club.  I suppose that is possible.  Not sure how soon that will happen.  The Page Turners had some amazing times.  We ate some fantastic food.  Read some great books.  Had even better discussions.  Enjoyed each others company.  Managed to have some drinks once in a while.  It was great while it lasted.

Old Lady - look at our girl all grown up.  You did a great job with the kids after I left.  There will never be a book club that I enjoy as much as The Page Turners.  We can all thank Easy Rider for planting that seed.  A great time was had by all!

Old Lady I cannot wait for you to be at Coco's again.
I know the next two weeks are going to be so hard for you. I'll be thinking of you.
