The Art of Racing In The Rain By Garth Stein

I received this book as a gift for my birthday.  My sister-in-law wanted to read it and bought one for me so she had someone to talk to about it.  I think she is going to be disappointed in my take on the book.  It seems like after Marley & Me there has been too many people trying to write books about dogs.  This book is written through a dog's life.  Enzo is the dog.  His owner is Denny, a race car driver.  Here is one of the problems with this book, the author ties the story to racing.  It was difficult for me to see how the "art of racing in the rain" ties into real life.  The symbolism goes over my head!  The surprising thing is I enjoyed the life through a dog's eyes.  It was interesting.  Sometimes fun.  If anyone has read it, let me know what you thought.  I'm giving it a 2.  It is my 40th book of the year.  I think I am getting back on track with my reading.
