What's Wrong With The Kindle

There are many things I am enjoying about the Kindle.  I like to have it in my purse.  I can just pull it out and read when I have a few minutes.  The print is easy to read.  It is light to hold.  I cannot look at it and easily see how many pages are left to read.  That makes me read more slowly.  Not feel the urgency to get to the end of the book.  Take time to enjoy the words.  Enjoy the story.  The works great for me.
What I do not like about the Kindle is it is hard for me to buy books.  I am an impulse book buyer.  I love to walk around the store looking.  I am drawn to the covers.  I like to browse the sale tables. The upside to that is I am not buying so many books.  The downside is that I am not buying as many books.  I am going to miss some hidden gems.  I am also going to miss some books that are not very good.  Reading the lame books makes me appreciate the great books.  I am going to save money by not buying so many books.
I think I will still need to go to Barnes at least once a month.  Take some notes on books to read.  Grab a couple of the hidden gems off the sale table.  I cannot go cold turkey staying out of the bookstore.
The Kindle does not need a bookmark.  I enjoy my bookmarks.  I have a large collection of bookmarks.  I need to make some type of display to hang up my bookmarks.  Something that will all me to look at them.  Having them all in one place would be wonderful.  Now they are laying on different shelves, my desk, anywhere I put them after I read a book.
What I am discovering is, readers need real books.  Once in awhile we need the total experience.  We need to go to the bookstore, touch the books, see the covers.  Convenience is wonderful, but I still need some books.
Speaking of books.  We are getting ready for our annual book sale at work.  This is something I started.  We get donated books.  Have a sale.  The money we make goes to buy supplies for our Back Pack For Kids campaign.  Last year my department raised over $200 just through the book sale.  Anyone out there have some books they would like to donate?  Let me know.
I see the sun is shining.  I have not finished my book club book this month.  Think I will go sit in the sun and do some reading.  Always at the top of my list of things to do.

I'm happy to donate plenty of books.
