This book took me a long time to read. I had trouble finding time to really read and get involved in the story. I am not sure I even know how to describe this book. It has so much in it. Madeline is a full-time life coach. She helps other people gain control of their lives. Madeline has a horrific, tragic past. She knows that a writer is going to reveal Madeline's story. She is also getting black mail letters.
Madeline has a sister, Annie, who suffered with her. Their grandparents are the anchors in their lives. The grandparents have secrets too. This story is about the part of their childhood that was blissful and how it turns to a nightmare people would not be able to imagine.
This is about a families strong love for each other. It is about a mother's determination to keep her children safe after she was not able to keep them safe. It is about two sisters that help each other continue to live even after they suffered so many tragedies. The ugliness in this book is countered by the beautiful spirit of the family.
This book is a 5. It is such an amazing read. It is a story of strength, reconciliation, and change. It broke my heart, made me want to cry and then feel so proud of how the family overcomes all their tragedies. It is a long book but well worth. Take the time to read this one.
