There are pictures and video all over Facebook and the blogs today about the Relay For Life Hollywood Masquerade Ball. It is a fun event. Everyone has a good time. The team does not want this to be a sad event. Last night at the ball there was a tribute wall. People could buy stars to honor people that fought cancer. T
I bought the star above. It was to honor my mother-in-law's battle with cancer. She did not win. She was an example of a person that took care of herself, ate healthy, exercised and still ended up with cancer. We expected her to be around for years. Losing her tore a huge hole in our family. She was the first person I was close with that lost a battle to cancer.
Both of my husband's parents and three of his siblings have battled cancer, two are still fighting the fight. Cancer is ugly. It does not care if it takes young people, old people. People that have always taken care of themselves. I am proud that Tru Stories works so hard on this Relay For Life event. Behind the laughter, the glitter, the dancing, and the fun; every member on this team is doing it because someone they loved lost a fight with cancer. They are an amazing example of how to HATE on Cancer, make quite a bit of money, and have a great time doing it.
Thanks for another great evening. Wish a hundred more people would attend your event and experience what you team has to offer. You are all something!
