Pulling Grammy Duty

Today I was asked to do Grammy duty watching Tru Stories children while their team practiced for the big dance coming next week-end.   I promised Tink that she could come over so it was in the plans.  I got a call this afternoon asking if I was willing to change my plans.  Would I go to TS's and add the One Carbon Hill Children to my watch.  I said, not a problem.  Sassy breathed a sigh of relief that she would not spend the afternoon hiding from Coco.  By the way, Sassy does not have a blog name.  I figure I can safely use her real name on the blog.
I got to Tru Stories and the house was eerily quiet.  The only human to be seen was Coach.  As usual, he was busy in the kitchen cleaning up.  He can be a super awesome husband the 15 to 20 minutes a day he is home.  Anyhoo, no children in sight.  I sat down and started looking at some cookbooks I brought with me.  Finally, the girls appeared very excited that their cousins were coming over to play.  The Kid was busy face timing his friend talking about nothing.
The Mrs. and her two beautiful girls soon arrived.  I was excited to spend some time getting to know the girls.  All girls immediately disappeared into the bedroom leaving me in the quiet to read.  The Kid mentioned he still needed a charger for his Nook.  (Sassy at his other one.)  I started helping The Kid sort through the biggest, twisted pile of electronic chargers I have ever seen.  I thought I had found something to keep me busy for my two hours at TS.  Soon the girls entered to let me know there was going to be a fashion show.  I was thrilled.  Tink pulled out.  Kenna worked the microphone.  That left Coco and Lanie to walk the runway.  Those two are peas in the drama pod. They worked it down the runway.  Gave me time to take some pictures.  Lanie said, "now strike a pose."
Next I was treated to some singing.  Coco's guitar and microphone were perfect Christmas gifts.  They were singing Call Me Maybe.  Loved it.  Kenna has a very nice voice.  The other girls were back-up dancers.  After the fashion show two more girls were added to the bunch.  I was in charge of six girls and The Kid.  I can promise I said The Kid's name more than any other.
Here is what I learned from my two hours with all the children.

Later in life Lanie & Coco will probably find their way into some plays in their schools.

I know what the Mrs. sounds like when she disciplines her children.  I have heard Kenna playing pretend with the other kids.

Listening to five little girls sing pop music is adorable.

Tink does not crave the spotlight as much as the other little girls. She was fine watching them from the sofa.

Whatever song The Kid keeps playing over and over and dancing to is very annoying.  Even if it is the most downloaded song ever in the world.

The six girl cousins are very cute together.  Very well behaved.  I even caught Kenna cleaning up without being asked.  I would watch them all again.  Not during the dance.  That is one of my All Time Never Babysit Nights.  Also, The Kid needs more boys his age around.  Maybe TS should find a brother to adopt for him.  He promises to feed him and play with him and share his room.  Right!

Thanks again for pulling Grammy duty. The girls loved spending time with all the D-Town cousins.

Your observation about McKenna disciplining the others made The General and me laugh (out loud). This is not the first time we've heard this from someone who has watched our girls. Your other observations about the girls were spot on - sounds like they gave you a real insider view of their true personalities today!

Kenna is very good at disciplining Coco... she's had plenty of practice at swim lessons.
