These are scenes taken at the end of a wonderful, long day on Green Lake. We got on the pontoon boat at 10:00 am, got off at 4:30. Out on the boat there is nothing to do but relax. Well some things. We ate snacks. We talked. We laughed. Over and over we mentioned how wonderful it was. We were in the middle of the lake when we were hit by a heavy down pour. Hit is the key word too. Wind was blowing hard, rain was beating against us. Carol was hidden under the tiny table on the boat. Five of us had our faces covered with our jackets. Our Captain had no choice but to brave the nasty rain. We put complete trust in him as we huddled together. Even the heavy rain made us laugh. It was that kind of week-end. We set out of have fun, and we had fun!
I wish I had a picture of the best part of the trip. My camera died. Carol had her camera. But it did not capture our best moment. After six hours on the lake we had some time to clean up before we met our Wisconsin friends for dinner. Since we were free and easy we decided not to fix ourselves up for dinner. I knew a scenic drive. We made one wrong turn and then I had us on the right road. We came to a fork in the road. Left or right. I said, left. We were looking out at a beautiful golf course and spotted the most amazing rainbow any of us had ever seen. We could see where one end started. We felt like we could have gone over and touched it. Next thing we knew we were looking at a second rainbow. Not just a double rainbow. Two perfectly formed, vibrant rainbows. We could see every single color. We all felt so blessed at that moment. The rainbows would not show on the camera. It felt like we were sent a message of love. I know I will not soon forget that sight.
We went back down to the lake to have dinner with our friends. Kim, one of their sweet daughters, snapped some pictures for us. There was another rainbow over the lake. A week-end full of rainbows. That cannot be beat.
