This is a crazy, busy time for Tru Stories. When Tru Stories is busy, I usually get a trickle down effect of busy too. She is busy finishing up details for the HUGE RELAY DANCE. I have had to run some errands to get ready for the dance. Busy times!
Coach finished up his basketball season this week. We were hoping his season would go on for a couple of more weeks. I attended two of his games this week. He had a good team this year. Unfortunately, his team had trouble connecting with the basket last night. It was painful to watch. Especially, because they are so much better than we saw last night. I am always proud of the job Coach does. He is a great teacher of the game. More than that, he is nice to the kids. He does not degrade or scream. He is a positive influence to the athletes. All of that said, I needed a quiet night tonight without the children. Tru Stories has Yoga/Pilates two nights a week. I am Coach's back-up. It will be nice to not have to watch the kids so much during the week.
We were suppose to have our Page Turner meeting last night. It was a difficult decision for me. I decided that I could not miss Coach's first appearance coaching a Regional Championship game. That put the club down two people. One more cancelled. Old Lady suggested we cancel our meeting this month and have a double meeting next month. That is two months in a row without a meeting. That is too long without a meeting.
Today I had lunch with Old Lady and two of my favorite Team Alumni. On the short drive to our lunch spot, Old Lady told me her hilarious dream. She had a dream that she was at a party with some of the blog people she follows. The OCH gang was there, along with Tru Story family. She said Shortcake and Punkin were there. Of course Tink and Coco too. For those of you who do not know, Old Lady fell for The General and Mrs. last year at the Relay Dance. In her dream she said, "where is The General." He was right outside the door and came and gave her a hug. Old Lady said she had such a nice time. (Do not be scared OCH gang. She knows it was a dream.)
I love that story. When we read blogs, it is something like reading a book. If we do not know the people, we develop them in our minds. We get pictures in blogs. That even helps us "think we know" the people in the blogs more. The Relay for Life dance was a big deal for Old Lady last year. She got to meet several of her favorite blog people that she follows. Old Lady does not get to come to the dance this year. I was really looking forward to her attending. She has had a rough 6 months. Old Lady was excited about getting away and enjoying the dance. Unfortunately, her mother is recovering from a broken hip and OL will be taking care of her this week-end. I promise you, her mother would rather OL be at the dance than bossing her around!!
We are 48 hours from the 2012 Relay For Life, Hollywood Masquerade Ball. I have my dress. I have my shoes. Getting my hair done on Saturday morning. I am sure I will have my little people at least one more time so Tru Stories can finish up some dance details. I am anxious to see what surprises the Relay Team has in store for us this year. I can promise there will be pictures! Probably on several blogs. If you are reading this and in our state, I hope you will be attending. Always, ALWAYS a great time!!! (I am not just saying that because Tru Stories is my daughter.)
Hawk Update: Yesterday we had two hawks. Hubby and Uncle were kept busy watching the hawk show. At one point one of the hawks swooped down on a sparrow and made it a little snack. Uncle said it was AWESOME to watch. Will not be awesome if that happens to one of our cute birds. They also got to see one of the hawks put on an aerial display. I am sure it was great to see. We are going to have to figure out some way to get rid of the hawks. It was nice to have them visit and amuse the males in my family. Now they need to find somewhere else to visit.

Flag girl is sad OL is not coming...hope the next 6 months are better....I will drink extra for OL.....
We need a blog family get together once the dance festivities subside. The General won't stand for letting someone not get a hug if they need one. We'll miss you, Old Lady!
Give OL a hug for me!
